Dedicated to breaking the barriers that limit a woman’s choice to pursue and thrive in both career and motherhood.

“Having a child does not limit our ability to achieve. I can be a champion and a mother.”

- ALYSIA MONTAÑO

Returning to competition after childbirth can be challenging, but new accommodations for runners, like lactation tents, can ease the transition.

Our Story

On Mother’s Day, 2019, our co-founder Alysia Montaño published her viral New York Times op-ed Nike Told Me to dream Crazy, Until I Wanted a Baby, followed by our Board member, Allyson Felix’s My Own Nike Pregnancy Story. Both editorials highlighted the lack of sponsor support for female athletes choosing to become mothers during their athletic careers. The #DreamMaternity message of the articles hit close to home for women all over the world from fellow professional athletes to lawyers to pilots to scientists to doctors and everyone in between.

We founded &Mother on Mother’s Day, 2020, as a path to transition the movement to impact — supporting a woman’s choice to pursue career and motherhood while enabling women to become the driving force changing a working world that has historically discriminated against, dismissed, and undervalued motherhood, starting with professional athletics.
